Hold onto your seats, kids, and don't piss yourself, though with news this exciting, it'll be hard to stretch another week out of those Depends...
Angelic Layer MUSH is moving towards some exciting developments, now that our playerbase has consistently expanded. PLEASE continue to advertise the MUSH and encourage your associates elsewhere- the good roleplayers, not that 'girl' you TS with on AIM when the wrestling shows are over- to check us out.
We're moving towards some major plot developments, not the least of which will be the beginning of a large, long-term progressing story, A NEW LAYER SYSTEM, some fun TP's to mix things up, and some new scary features Shirow's cooking up. I may even become a Jehovah's Witness for a day and go door to door in a pink dress telling users to look on the bright side of life. Who knows.
The point, however, is that we need players who are interested in assuming the roles of some FEATURE CHARACTERS. There are a few FC's that will be critical to getting our upcoming plot off the ground- though please, allow me to assure everyone that ALL PLAYERS WILL BE EQUALLY ABLE TO MAKE IMPORTANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE PLOT! This is a point that I have stood firm on with my fellow staff and will continue to do so. Playing an FC is a unique roleplaying experience, however, as to some extent, the course and momentum of the story relies on you! Some of you may already be familiar with the nature of feature characters elseM*. If so, you'll know that being granted the right to play an FC requires you to make an honest committment of some time and regularity of being online and IC... IC, which is short for "In Character," refers to any time that your online location differs from that of the OOC Nexus or Practice Room, and when you assume the 'role' of a 'character' you have already created in imaginary situations with your fellow players... this mysterious art is called 'roleplaying' by some, and FC's will be expected to do a lot of it.
For that reason, Mishya, Shirow, and myself will be holding Open Auditions for all interested parties this weekend, July 24-25 (people seriously interested who are unable to make these dates should contact us). Applicants will be given a number of tests of their roleplaying ability, creative mettle, and ability to integrate plot information into their RP performance. All serious applicants -must- be willing to surrender their current character and any alts for the duration of their FC role, to both maximize their time committment and avoid any character conflicts-of-interest.
